Extensions Info & Care

How to choose what extensions are right for you:

First, there are three types of extensions that we recommend:

1) Tape-Ins

2) Clip-Ins

3) Microlinks

Each type of extension has it's own pro's and con's. First, you should consider how long you plan on wearing these extensions.  Just for the day? A week? Six months?

If you plan on wearing them for just the day, or every now and again, we recommend you purchase CLIP-IN extensions.

If you plan on wearing them for several weeks to months then either TAPE-IN or MICROLINK extensions are better suited.

The type of extension will depend on the individuals hair as well.  So a FREE consultations is recommended before you purchase any extensions.  We have a list of specific vendors that we recommend you purchase from, they have the best quality hair in the business, and you will get your moneys worth.  Depending on the hair, expect to spend between $250-$400 for the hair, not including the installation.  *Please note that we do not make ANY money off the hair itself, so we only recommend companies we truly trust.

We can also make custom hair pieces that can be worn for just the day of the wedding.  The prices average about $100.

Tape in and micro-link extensions should be applied at least 1 week prior to the event, so allow the wearer to get used to the extra weight and initial discomfort on the first 2 days.

CUSTOM EXTENSIONS

These hair extensions are made of either synthetic hair or human hair, depending on the desired style and budget.  They are made specifically for you, and are easily pinned in place.  The price starts at $40 but the average cost is $100.  It is definitively more cost efficient so they work for everyone's budget! PLUS you can re-wear them later!

CLIP-IN

Clip-in extensions are placed in the hair with small snap-clips.  They are ideal for a hairstyle worn down or to the side.  They can be worn over and over again.  If you choose to wear them after the event, you just place them in, in the morning and remove them before bed.  They are human hair, and can be curled, flat-ironed, and washed.

MICROLINK

Microlink hair extensions are applied using small beads and used to add lenghth.  Each person requires roughly 200 pieces, but this will vary depending on the length and thickness of the persons hair.  They are human hair and can be washed, dried, and curled.  They can be work for 2-4 months, and then are taken out and placed back at the scalp.  They can be reused 2-4 times, so you can have gorgeous long hair for up to a year! The cost of instillation is $150-$300 every 2-4 months.

***Please note that microlink extensions require sulfate free shampoo, and you should avoid putting conditioner and oily products on the bond.

TAPE-IN

Tap-in extensions are placed in the hair to add volume and length.  They are placed in the head using small pieces of specially designed tape.  Each person needs roughly 40 pieces, but may require more, depending on the length and thickness of their hair.  They must be removed (which can be done at home) and placed back into the head (by a stylist) every 4 weeks.  They can be reused for 6-12 months, depending on the quality of the hair.  They are human hair and can be washed, dried, and curled. The average cost of installation is $50-$100, every 4 weeks.

***Please note that tape-in extensions require sulfate free shampoo, and you should avoid putting conditioner and oily products on the bond.
